Adirondack Backcountry Ski Festival



FEBRUARY 2006

Register now for the Fourth Annual Adirondack Backcountry Ski Festival. The event will be held on March 4 and 5 at Keene Valley, New York and brought to skiers by The Mountaineer and major sponsor Primaloft. Also, the event is for the benefit of the New York State Ski Education Foundation.

An Introduction to Backcountry Ski Clinic will be conducted which will cover the basics of backcountry ski touring. In addition, a guided tour will be held the following day. Moreover, a High Peaks Traverse Tour will be available to intermediate nordic skiers which will take them through the Avalanche Pass.

Moreover, there will be a Backcountry Ski Tour for intermediate skiers which will take them on a classic tour of the High Peaks. An instructor will dispense tips and techniques for off-piste terrain as they navigate their way into the area. Lastly, a buffet dinner and presentation will be held at the Rock and River's Guide's Ski Lodge where skiers can enjoy a delicious meal and then heading off to a presentation by Backcountry Magazine.

Backing up the event is Primaloft and Backcountry Magazine. Other generous sponsors include Garmont, Black Diamond, K2, Karhu and many others has provided the latest skiing demo gear for the attendees.
