Crossen Skis Colorado's Fourteeners


May 28, 2004 -- Sean’s goal began with a simple premise. While most skiing expeditions focus on staging large-scale expeditions to Alaska, British Columbia, the Himalaya, and other remote locations, relatively few, if any, athletes undertake major adventures close to home. Inspired by Lou Dawson and the mountains he has explored during the past 16 years, Sean set out to change this perception.

“I love these mountains. They’re as demanding and serious as any out there. This season I was fortunate enough to ski five of the six peaks remaining on my list. San Luis, Culebra, Pyramid, Little Bear, and Mt. Wilson all went very well. I was turned back three times on Capitol, and the last time I went, I realized it would be impossible to ski it this season. The route is burly and requires perfect conditions, which most likely won’t come until 2005. I am looking forward to finishing up; it’s been grueling and difficult at times, but what an incredible experience. I feel extremely fortunate to be able to pursue this goal and look forward to next winter.”

Sean currently lives in Crested Butte, CO with his wife Heather and son Connor.
