Fernie Freeride Team

Fernie Alpine Resort (British Columbia) has become renowned for its snow and terrain, but is also well known for the excellent skiers and riders who call Fernie home. You may have seen these athletes on Ride Guide TV, in Snowboard Canada Magazine, or even on the cover of Powder Magazine. The talent found in this part of the Canadian Rockies is amazing considering the town of Fernie is home to only 5,000 residents.

Fernie’s first Freeride Team members include: Emily Brydon, Marlene Bradish, Terry Cox, Christian Doyle, Chris Ebbern, Dave Fuller, Emmet Graham, Dave Hawrys, Jeff Holden, Lenka Kosmak, Sara Oakden, Meg Oster, Mike Phillips, Daryl Treadway, Jamie Warner and Mac Williams. This team of thirteen skiers and three snowboarders will be competing throughout the season in Big Mountain, Big Air and Park and Pipe competitions, as well as participating in functions, events and photo shoots for Fernie Alpine Resort.

“It was very hard choosing only 16 team members for the first season, as Fernie has so many amazing skiers and riders,” says Melody Kultgen, Director of Sales and Public Relations for the resort. “We are looking forward to building the team over the next few years and showcasing Fernie’s talent,” she adds.

Fernie Alpine Resort is located in southeastern British Columbia. The Good Skiing and Snowboarding Guide, 2004 (UK), recently awarded Fernie with the honor of “Resort of the Year in North America.”
