Maine Telemark Ski Festival
FEBRUARY 2006
The New England Telemark (NET) group will have its Maine Telemark Festival on February 25 and 26 at Sunday River. The weekend will feature ski demos, clinics and fun events for all the attendees.
Tickets cost $57 inclusive of demos, lessons and events. Season skiing pass holders and special lift coupons pay $20. Participants will get to try out the latest gear from leading manufacturers for free! Moreover, the NET is the only Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) certified telemark ski school. A majority of their telemark instructors are members of PSIA and they will all be there to give free clinics to skiers of all levels.
In addition, there will be contests for all the attendees. There will a fun costume contest where participants are expected to ski while wearing their costumes. It is important attendees should make sure to consider a lot of factors while making their costumes. Moreover, there will be a Slopestyle Competition and a Bump Contest . Not only that, participants should make sure to join the raffle since a lot of great prizes will be given away. Afterwards, make your way to Cantina to party the night away.
NET is a group of telemark instructors dedicated to teaching the telemark turn. Their aim is to spread the word about the joys of telemark and backcountry skiing. The Maine Telemark Festival was made possible by sponsors East Mountain Sports, Red Hook Ale and Sunday River.
