Fort St. James is 60 km north of Vanderhoof on Highway 27. Located on the shore of beautiful Stuart Lake, the town is both rustic and picturesque. With a population of 5,000 the town offers a wide variety of accommodations and restaurants. For outdoor enthusiasts Fort St. James offers a superior array of virtually untapped opportunities including, sailing and fishing excursions on Stuart and neighbouring lakes. For rock climbers, Mt. Pope presents diverse, challenging, multi-pitch climbs on the massive rock face overlooking Stuart lake.
