Rockies Experience keeps Getting Better
The ultimate vacation experience is about to get better at Resorts of
the Canadian Rockies. Various improvements for the year-round destination
resorts of Lake Louise Ski Area, Fernie Alpine Resort and Kimberley Alpine
Resort will be put in place for the upcoming 2004/05 winter ski season.
All resorts will implement the corporate-wide service program, “Experience
the Ultimate,” aimed at service recovery and service delivery in
order to provide guests better enjoyment on their mountain vacation. The
program was launched last season with great success and will be enhanced
as our staff works hard to create special memories for our guests and
making the guest feel special.
Lake Louise Ski Area, already well known for its extensive snowmaking,
will be adding new fan snow guns to its fleet and adding new environmentally
friendly pumps that will create significantly greater amounts of drier
powder like snow. The improvements to the snowmaking system ensure the
best possible snow conditions for the annual World Cup Alpine events and
its long ski season operating from mid-November to early May.
The unique Canadian Rockies fare served at each resort will be highlighted
with improvements and renovations. Lake Louise Ski Area will improve the
overall food offerings and culinary experience at the resort. In the scenic
Larch area of Lake Louise, one of Canada’s most scenic restaurants
the Temple Lodge will see continued upgrades of its interior and food
court.
Across the Rockies to the western slopes, Kimberley Alpine Resort’s
Stemwinder Bar and Grille, situated with ski in and ski out ease, right
in the heart of the Kimberley Village will see its capacity doubled and
a new BBQ deck so you can soak in the sun and tunes while taking in the
incredible views with its new interior upgrades and new Canadian Rockies
food offerings.
Fernie Alpine Resort’s food service improvements will be highlighted
by two major improvements. First, the new Kokanee Deck will debut at the
world famous Griz Bar and this will surely enhance the après-ski
party atmosphere at the resort. Secondly, in step with the great success
of the new Slopeside Coffee and Deli location in the Cornerstone that
opened last season will see an addition of an afternoon wine bar featuring
the finest selection of Australian, Italian and Californian wines by Ernest
and Julio Gallo.
Powder hounds will enjoy the much anticipated and soon to be named addition
of gladed terrain in Currie and Timber Bowl. The new gladed area is tree
skiing at its finest as it continues to set the bar for powder seekers.
Fernie was voted the number one niche resort in Canada by Skiing Magazine
in 2003 and received the “Resort of the Year in North America”
award for 2004 by The Good Skiing and Snowboarding Guide.
Canadian Rockies flare and fare are at the forefront of the plans put
in place by Resorts of the Canadian Rockies to ensure the best vacation
experience possible for visitors to its resorts of Lake Louise Ski Area,
Fernie Alpine Resort and Kimberley Alpine Resort for the upcoming winter
season.
