What a difference a day makes. Winter has returned to Sugarbush. We’ve been making snow all night and conditions are just how Ullr, the Norse God of snow, would want them. We’ll be sparking the Ullr Fest bonfire at 2:00 today so come on up and check out the festivities.
There will be skiing and riding at Mount Ellen on four trails serviced by two lifts and the conditions are just what you would expect after a night of snowmaking. We’ve got loose granular and packed powder surfaces and the terrain is for advanced and intermediate skiers and riders.
Skiing and riding today is from the summit to mid-station with downloading on the Green Mountain Express. The chairs will start spinning at 9:00 a.m. with the last chair up the GMX at 2:45 p.m. and the last chair on Summit at 3:15 p.m. Lift tickets are $32 for adults, $27 for Young Adults ages 13 to 17 and only $22 for juniors ages 7 to 12 and seniors 65 and up.
We’ve got a bit of sad news skiers and riders--tomorrow’s Turkey Tumble and Pluck the Turkey contest have been cancelled, but as we mentioned before, Ullr Fest kicks off this afternoon. We will spark a bonfire at 2:00 and load up the Ullr mobiles at 3:00 for a tour of the Mad River Valley’s more popular inns and taverns.
Cap off your Thanksgiving festivities tomorrow night at the Blue Tooth with our new Schullr party featuring music by the Detonators.
