Carnaval de Quebec January 28 - February 13, 2005
Over the years, the Quebec Winter Carnival and its most prominent ambassador, Bonhomme Carnaval, have become famous far and wide. Bonhomme is the living incarnation of the snowmen that have enchanted Quebec children for generations. The event’s number one celebrity, Bonhomme plays a central role in all carnival activities.
The Quebec Winter Carnival is a unique and exciting event that has enlivened the world’s snow capital for 50 years with its celebration of winter magic featuring numerous fun-filled activities for the whole family.
For 17 consecutive days, the Mr. Christie Quebec Winter Carnival offers up a dazzling array of world-class sporting, artistic, and cultural activities that provide grown-ups and children alike an opportunity to rediscover the wonders of winter. The main carnival attractions are located in the heart of Old Quebec and draw nearly 1,000,000 visitors every year.
Festiglace: North Face du Quebec February 18 - 20, 2005
This is the largest ice-climbing event in North America. The ice cascades of the Jacques-Cartier River canyon play host to this international competition. Renowned climbers and outdoor enthusiasts meet to celebrate their passion for ice-climbing.
Cross-country Marathon at Mont-Sainte-Anne: February 12 - 13, 2005
This popular cross-country skiing marathon challenges skiers of all ages and calibers to try the trails, which range from 15-kilometer (9-mile) freestyle to 50-kilometer (31-mile) classical style runs. The cross-country center is the ideal place to host three exciting competitions; one skating style event and two classic style events.
Montreal High Lights Festival February 17 - 27, 2005
This international-caliber event, involving Montréal’s main theaters, orchestras, dance troupes and museums, as well as the city’s finest restaurants and hotels, heats up the winter with the best Montréal has to offer in the way of performance, culinary, lighting and visual arts. Mont-Tremblant: Ericsson World Cup Freestyle Skiing Competition
January 7 - 9, 2005
Once again the best freestyle athletes from around the world make their way to Tremblant for aerial and mogul competitions. Visitors enjoy a number of Ericsson related activities such as concerts and animation.
Mont Tremblant: Extreme weekend: “Côté Obscur” - March 4 and 5, 2005
An entire “extreme” weekend dedicated to Big Air competitions. Participating athletes are freeskiers and snowboarders competing for a spot in the finals that take place at night under the starry sky with acrobatics and music. This is a really spectacular spectator event.
