Jasper's Pyramid Bench conatins moderate cross country ski trails that begin right off Pyramid Lake Road. You can ski right from town or drive up to one of the two parking areas near Pyramid Lake. The Bench cross country ski trails include the Mina/Riley Loop - a 6 to 7km intermediate trail with gently sloping terrain or the shorter 4.7 km Pyramid Bench ski loop which offers spectacular views of Jasper's Athabasca Valley. Athabasca Falls-Whirlpool Valley have fantastic cross country ski trails with beautiful views. A Jasper local favorite ski is Moab Lake Trail, which starts at the Meeting of the Waters picnic area 20 kilometres south of Jasper on highway 93A. Whirlpool Campground cross country ski trail is another great easy 4.5 kilometres, starting at the Moab Lake trailhead reached via the Athabasca Falls turnoff on the Icefield Parkway.
